IR Downloader is designed to be privacy-first. You do not need to create an account or log in to use the service. When you paste a Reel URL and request a download, we process the link on our server to fetch the video and return it to your browser. We do not store the videos you download.

For anonymous users, we use your browser's localStorage to remember your theme preference (light/dark mode). To enforce fair use and prevent abuse, we may record your IP address and a daily download count when rate limiting is active. No Instagram login credentials are ever requested or stored.

How We Use Your Data

We use the information we collect to:

Cookies and Local Storage

IR Downloader uses browser localStorage to store your theme preference (light/dark mode) and, where applicable, download count data for rate limiting. We do not use cookies to identify you personally.

Security

All communications between your browser and our services are encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. We implement Row Level Security on our database to ensure data is only accessed as intended. We never ask for or store your Instagram password.

While we strive to protect your personal information, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but we continuously work to improve our security practices.
